Residents inform vision for Strathmore Square

SEPT. 14, 2016

More than 70 residents attended our interactive community workshop Wednesday Sept. 14, 2016, and shared their thoughts on the future of the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station area.

Fivesquares Development hosted the workshop together with our development partners, Strathmore and WMATA. Our goal was to understand the features, amenities, sustainable elements and design the community envisions for the site.

“The feedback we received Wednesday was invaluable as we work to develop a vision for the site,” said Ron Kaplan, principal of Fivesquares Development. “We too are residents of this County and care deeply about its future. We are committed to ensuring that Strathmore Square is not simply another development, but a connected, sustainable, thriving community.”

Fivesquares Development, Strathmore and WMATA are still in the early stages of creating a vision for the site. Until Park & Planning’s Minor Master Plan Process is complete, we will not be able to draft formal plans. However, the feedback received Wednesday will inform our vision.

Those who could not attend Wednesday’s workshop will have many more opportunities to have their voice heard on the project. Our team will continue working closely with the community as we move forward, including hosting additional workshops. We are also happy to meet with any individuals or groups to exchange ideas and answer questions. Park & Planning will also continue seeking public engagement in the ongoing Minor Master Plan Amendment Process for the area.

To share your thoughts or feedback email us at community@strathmoresquare.com.
