Pop-Up Shop Initiative Wins 2018 Gold Sustainability Award

We are pleased to announce that the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Pop-Up Program has been recognized by WMATA as one of the best and brightest examples of sustainable business practices through their annual Sustainability Awards Program.

Each year, WMATA awards a group of individuals who have shown a strong commitment to “going green.” As part of their creative initiative aimed to recycle and repurpose retired Metro railcars, the Railcar Recycling team received WMATA’s highest honor, Gold Sustainability Champions. The Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Pop-Ups was one component of several green alternatives pursued by this team.
