MyMCMedia: Shops Open at Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station

MAY. 17, 2017 | Written by Douglas Tallman | MyMCMedia

A series of shops opened Wednesday at the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station, a chance for subway riders to see local businesses that specialize in flowers, food, fashions and other items.

Metro General Manager Paul Wiedefeld, County Executive Ike Leggett and other local officials were part of the kick-off event at the North Bethesda subway station.

The shops are housed in an old Metro rail car that has been chopped into seven separate sections.

The shops are part of a development plan proposed by Fivesquares Development LLC, which is developing Strathmore Square at the subway station.

The shops will be open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. through June 30.
